The Joint 3D Printing Project (3DTY)

3DTY project results:

3DTY, or the Joint 3D Printing Project, is a project carried out by seven RDI actors, with a total budget of 3.2 million euros. The project duration is three years (August 1, 2023 – July 31, 2026).

The goal of the project is to renew industry by connecting Finnish RDI actors who develop and promote large-scale 3D printing technologies, and to enhance both local and national impact through close domestic collaboration and the best expertise available globally. The project includes both metal printing and polymer/composite material printing.

The funding authority is the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of South Savo. The project is coordinated by the Future Manufacturing Technologies (FMT) research group at the University of Oulu.

Other project partners include Lapland Education Centre REDU, Savonia University of Applied Sciences, University of Eastern Finland (UEF), LUT University, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, and the FAMN and FAME ecosystems coordinated by DIMECC Oy.

Savonia’s contribution to the project covers both metal and plastic printing. During the project, several demonstrations and articles will be carried out, which will be communicated through newsletters, among other channels.
