Tensile test
Tensile testing can be used to determine the strength properties of a material and its behavior under load; the determination of material properties is needed for defining various applications and for quality control.
- Static tensile testing at room temperature is carried out on a loading frame in accordance with standard SFS-EN ISO 6892.
- Dynamic tensile tests
- Tensile tests, which determine the mechanical properties of materials, are performed using standard tensile specimens; additionally, the strength properties of a finished structure or product can be tested.
- Equipment available to us
- Matertest FMT – MEC 100, Static tensile tests 1 – 100 kN
- Walter & Bai LFV 500, Static and dynamic tensile tests 15 – 500 kN

Hardness test
With the hardness testing devices at our disposal, we can perform the following metal surface hardness tests in accordance with standards.
- Rockwell HRB and HRC hardness tests according to standard SFS – EN ISO 6508 – 1 are suitable for routine inspections of hard materials.
- The Brinell hardness test according to standard SFS – EN ISO 6506 – 1 is suitable for non-homogeneous materials, due to the large indentation size.
- The Vickers hardness test according to standard SFS – EN ISO 6507 – 1 is suitable for both soft and hard materials.
- Reporting according to agreement.
- Equipment available:
- ERNST AT 130 DRN, Brinell HB 30 hardness
- Omag FFRI, Rockwell HRB and HRC hardness
- Struers Duran Scan – 20, Vickers hardness

Charpy V-notch impact test
- The impact test is performed using a Charpy impact hammer in accordance with standard SFS – EN ISO 148 – 1.
- For the impact test, a V-notch specimen is prepared from the material according to the standard.
- The result of the Charpy impact test is the impact energy in joules at which the material breaks, i.e., the material’s impact toughness.
- Hammer test range: 0 – 150 J
- Reporting according to the agreement.

Microscopy study
- The material is ground and etched.
- The internal microstructure of the material is examined under a microscope from the etched sample.
- Reporting is done according to the agreement.

Condition testing (UV testing)
- UV chamber (xenon) Suntest Atlas XXL+, allows ISO 4892-2 compliant testing for plastic parts.
- Chamber size: 79 x 39 cm
