Information about 3D-printing

These sites contain information about Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) categorized by materials, methods, and industries.

Additive Manufacturing has several commonly used names that generally refer to the same concept. These include 3D printing, Rapid Prototyping, Additive Manufacturing, and Material Additive Manufacturing.

However, the term Additive Manufacturing best describes the production method, as not all techniques resemble printing processes in nature—despite the name ‘3D printing’ originating from such processes.

The principle of additive manufacturing is that material is added to the piece layer by layer. A typical manufacturing process proceeds as shown in the image below: first, a 3D model is created, which is then sliced into appropriately sized layers, and the 3D printer produces the object using these layers.
